Liebster Award

I received a surprise earlier this past week with a nomination from The Peckish Kiwi. {Thank you, kindly!} This is my first nomination. Since I didn’t know anything about what the Liebster was, I did a quick search. But my google search didn’t yield much info on the award itself, mainly links to others who were nominated. They all seem to follow this same general format though. However, some don’t stipulate the range number of followers nominees need to be within. But from what I can gather, its basic and main purpose is to “discover” new blogs and increase traffic to those “young” blogs. What a fantastic idea! It’s fun, too. 😀

So here are the rules as passed on by The Peckish Kiwi:

The Rules of the Award:

1. Post eleven facts about yourself.

2. Answer the questions the tagger has set for you and create eleven questions for people you’ve nominated.

3. Choose eleven people (with fewer than 200 followers) to give this award to and link them in your post.

4. Go to their page and tell them.

5. Remember, no tag backs.

11 Facts About Me:

  1. This blog started as a class assignment during my junior year at university, but I liked doing it so much that I’ve tried to keep it going.
  2. My classes and homework this final term often get in the way, so I look forward to graduating this spring when I can keep up with my blog better.
  3. While I am deeply interested in all things health and wellness related, I like to cover anything that sparks my interest in my blog which helps diversify my posts.
  4. I love to do crafty, creative things, like crochet, sewing, and ceramics projects. But I also love to write poetry and fiction.
  5. Because my life began so roughly at birth, I thought I wouldn’t live past my 20s. Thankfully, my health drastically improved during my late teens and early 20s. 😀
  6. I’m a bit of an introvert… that is, until I get comfortable with a person. Then, I’m told, I’m more of an extrovert.
  7. Singlehood has provided me the ability to travel and daily discover who I’m growing into, but if circumstances and myself would stop getting in the way I think I’d like to settle down to start a family.
  8. I love to cook for my family and friends. Not just average meals, but special ones that I try to make look exceedingly pretty.
  9. Working with kids is one of the main ways I satisfy my maternal drive. Kids are a wonderfully delightful balm to my heart!
  10. I like to dance, but don’t like clubs… so I mainly dance in my bedroom. Lol.
  11. That said, I would love to learn ballroom dancing.

Questions from The Peckish Kiwi Blog:

1. Tomato Sauce or Ketchup?

Totally depends on the circumstance. When cooking, tomato sauce. For dipping my fries, a mixture of Ketchup and mayonnaise.

2. Tortellini or Ravioli?

Ravioli, usually.

3. Early bird or Night Owl?

Depends on what’s going on in my life. I used to be a total night owl, but when I work jobs with early morning hours, I become an early bird real easily.

4. If you had a cow, what would you call it?

Harriet.

5. If you were promised $10,000 a day for the rest of your life, but had to spend each lot of $10,000 in the day you received it (so no using finance or hire purchase), what would you spend your first $10,000 on?

Down payment on a big plot of acreage somewhere in the MidWest.

6. Are you more likely to be ten minutes early or ten minutes late?

Depends on if I’ve gotten lost on my way to my destination or if I already know the way. Normally a little early or right on time.

7. What’s your favourite go to meal when you’re just cooking for yourself after a hard day of work when you are feeling lazy? Or if you don’t cook, what’s your favourite feed me now I’m hungry meal.

Whatever I have in leftovers. But if I’m out of leftovers, breakfast foods like eggs and hash browns or oatmeal.

8. Do you dream in colour?

Sometimes and those are the dreams that seem more like real life.

9. What’s your favourite Eddie Murphy movie?

I have to pick one?! Then it’s going to have to be his voice-over work in Mulan. Lol.

10. Have you ever talked your way out of a speeding ticket?

Yes, by virtue of distraction. I knew him when in high school where he’d been a substitute teacher.

11. What’s the best thing about this blogging gig for you?

Having an outlet for all the knowledge I’ve gleaned from my studies for my Health and Wellness degree. It’s also another form of creative outlet because I love to write.
